2022.01.24 06:45 Starwarshooker Dino spawns

Hey, not sure if it’s the right sub for this. Just downloaded ARK on Xbox again after a couple years and whenever I start a new work there are no Dinos. Maybe 1 dilo and a couple flyers. I’ve turned of single player settings but that doesn’t work either. I’ve set the spawn rate to the max (1.0) but still nothing. Any help appreciated, thanks!

So i got a tablet this Christmas (tab s6 lite) and I would like to get notes on the tablet, but I don't know what app to use. Some recommendations or anything? I would like to be completely free for Android, but I can accept if I need to pay

2022.01.24 06:45 RigamaroleStatus So Much For the Afterglow - An Album Analysis

The opening track to Everclear's magnum opus So Much For the Afterglow encapsulates everything you are about to hear.
"This is a song about Susan This is a song about the girl next door This is a song about the way things are This is a song about the everyday occurences that make me feel like letting go Yes I think we've got a problem... So much for the afterglow!"
Quite the mission statement. In no uncertain terms, this record is about the troubles and dysfunction of American life at the end of the 20th century. In 1997, the political scandals of Bill Clinton would be front and foremost; the Cold War had been over for a few years, Americans were enjoying a level of prosperity not seen in a generation and a recent weird streak had been imprinted on American music. Hip-hop was in full effect and rock artists in particular appeared to enjoy quite the level of creative freedom resulting in landmark records such as OK Computer and oddities like Sailing on the Seas of Cheese.
In the wake of Nirvana's end came band after band labels hoped could capture the same audiences and attention as Cobain and company. By 1994 Art Alexakis was already 32 and, according interviews and critics over the years, was already an old man by rock standards. Having moved from California to Oregon, he was already a working musician recording certifably cowpunk albums with outfits like The Easy Hoes and Colorfinger, Everclear was the natural continuation of his musical evolution. With a greater emphasis of straight forward rock with a singer-songwriters' touch, their first two records were certainly rough around the edges but songs like "Santa Monica" verified Art's bona fides as a master of good pop songwriting.
Prior to the sessions that would see So Much for the Afterglow begin production in full, the band recorded a series of demos that were similar in style and direction to Sparkle and Fade but with much more polished solid song structures and an eye for subtle features that made them stand-out amidst the deluge of alt rock would-bes that cluttered rock radio and MTV airwaves. These recordings were initially intended for a record then-titled Pure White Evil and contains more straight-forward rock production on songs that would eventually appear on SMFTA like "Everything to Everyone," "Normal Like You" and "Culver Palms" (later retitled "Why I Don't Believe in God"). Two songs off of the Pure White Evil demo - "This Is Your Death Song" and "Otis Redding" - point in the direction that these sessions were going in.
Mid-way, Art scrapped this idea for what became: So Much For the Afterglow.
The album is a summery mix of sunshine power pop with instrumentation and composition steeped in punk rock sensibilities but Cheap Trick-esque ears for melody. There are bouts of electronic experimentation on songs like the instrumental "El Distorto de Melodica"; psychedelic string arrangements on "Amphetamine" (itself propelled by a fierce pop-punk drive); Beach Boys vocal harmonies on the title track and "White Men in Black Suits"; Folk with "Why I Don't Believe in God"; the album runs the gamut with all sorts of different sounds and arrangements that make for an incredibly rewarding listen.
Lars Fox and Art Alexakis' production leave plenty of room for the dozens of instruments and sounds you can hear in each song. It's big and expansive without losing any of the intimacy songs like "Sunflowers" or "I Will Buy You a New Life" invite. It's epic closer takes a defiantly triumphant turn and revels in the mess it sees: songs about mental health and prescription drugs, young people that run away from troubled homes, deadbeat fathers, poverty, consumerism, celebrity - which I think is why the album still holds up incredibly well. Very real problems for a world still grappling with these problems. It's like a more down-to-earth companion piece to the societal woes addressed on Radiohead's OK Computer.
"Sometimes it gets so goddamned hard I feel like letting it all go"
When Art says this line with understated rage and contempt, you can actually believe it.

2022.01.24 06:45 Massive_Razzmatazz44 Men, when would you start blocking your ex?

An ex blocked me and then unblocked me again. He drops in a hi every now and then, and then he disappeared again. I don’t usually care but I just found out he actually blocks me. What is with this odd behaviour? Ps: We have been separated for a long time.
